The Woods missed out in the first half when they were the better side, but once again missed chances, and those misses were to come back and bite them.
In this Suburban Cup tie, Hampton & Richmond came out strongly in the second half and their quick, decisive play didn’t let the Woods back into the game.
In the first period Harry Smart showed his skill with some excellent touches as he played just behind striker Anton Lewis, but unfortunately the Woods didn't take the couple of chances open to them and paid the ultimate price.
Mark Britt made two superb saves early in the second half before a blatant push in the back gave H & R a penalty that was despatched into the corner. H & R added to the score on 73 minutes when the centre forward headed in a cross.
